Chris is an experienced and talented lawyer practicing workplace and sports law at Zervos Lawyers.
In the field of workplace law, Chris provides advice to clients regarding drafting employment contracts and workplace policies, enterprise agreements, awards, occupational health and safety, equal opportunity and employment disputes.
In addition, he also works on drafting and advising on enterprise agreements, employment contracts and workplace policies. Other areas include workplace investigations, disciplinary matters and termination of employment, equal opportunity, acting for clients in adverse action and unfair dismissal proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Court, defending Work Safe prosecutions and educating employers and employees regarding all aspects of workplace law.
Within the area of sports law, Chris has extensive experience in acting for professional sporting clubs and bodies regarding contracts, discipline and governance issues. He also represents individuals, namely players in negotiating and drafting contracts. His passion for sports in general makes him the ideal professional in this area of law. Chris is highly sought with a reputation in resolving disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
Most recently, Chris has acted on a number of high profile cases within the sporting arena. He has represented a number of individuals in the AFL investigation into the Melbourne Football Club for ‘tanking’; the AFL/ASADA investigation into the Essendon Football Club and its Supplement Program of 2012 and the Football Federation of Victoria’s Investigation into the Southern Stars Football Club for alleged match fixing.
